North London Street Dance Academy – Terms & Conditions for Children’s Classes



1. Class Fees

  • Class fees are calculated at £10 per session, with a total of 38 weeks of classes delivered throughout the academic year.
  • The annual cost of £380 is divided equally across the year to create a monthly subscription of £32, payable on the 1st of each month, including during school holidays.
  • This fixed monthly fee ensures consistent budgeting for parents and supports continuity of service for the academy.
  • After school clubs and any other style class - the fees are calculated at £9 per session with a total of 38 weeks. The annual cost of £342 is divided equally across the year to create a monthly subscription of £28.50, payable on the 1st of each month, including during school holidays.
  • After school clubs and other style classes are not required to pay the annual membership fee as they come under a different tier category of admin.

2. Payment Method

  • Monthly payments must be made via Direct Debit or Standing Order.
  • All payments are due on or before the 1st of each calendar month.
  • Failure to pay on time may result in the student being unable to attend class until payment is received.

3. Annual Membership Fee

  • A £20 annual membership fee is required for all students. (except where specified)
  • This fee covers administrative costs, insurance, music licensing, DBS, first aid, customer service, class planning, membership to affiliated bodies, and contributes to show production & community events etc.
  • The membership fee is non-refundable and is due at the time of initial registration.
  • For returning students, the membership fee renews automatically each August.

4. Missed Classes & Refunds

  • Missed classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Monthly fees remain payable in full regardless of absence, as your child’s place is held exclusively for them.

5. Notice Period

  • One full calendar month’s written notice is required to cancel your child’s place and stop monthly payments.
  • No refunds will be given for partial months or unused membership fees.

6. Private Lessons

  • Cancellations for pre-booked private sessions must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Late cancellations will be charged in full.


7. Emergency Contact & Pick-Up

  • Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring NLSDA has up-to-date emergency contact information.
  • If someone other than the usual parent/guardian is collecting your child, you must inform the teaching staff in advance.


8. Photography & Media Consent

  • NLSDA may take photographs and videos of classes, rehearsals, and performances for educational and promotional purposes. By enrolling, you consent to this use.
  • If you do not wish for your child to be included in such media, please mark no photography permissions when asked via CFK.
  • Parents/carers may take photos/videos at performances unless otherwise instructed. Filming or photography is not permitted during classes or rehearsals for safeguarding reasons.


9. Staffing & Safeguarding

  • NLSDA reserves the right to use cover or substitute teachers when needed.
  • All regular staff are DBS checked, interviewed, and referenced.
  • Occasional staff will be supervised and assessed individually for safeguarding suitability and will never be left alone with children.


10. Data Protection

  • Personal data will be securely held and used in line with the Data Protection Act for class administration, safeguarding, and communication.


11. Performances

  • Participation in community events is optional. However, all students attending classes in the summer term are expected to take part in the annual summer show.
  • If your child does not participate, you may still be required to contribute to the show’s additional rehearsal costs (not including costumes).


12. Code of Conduct

  • Students are expected to behave respectfully, both in and out of class, representing NLSDA positively in the community.
  • Parents/carers must park considerately near class venues and ensure litter is disposed of properly.


13. Class Cancellations

  • If NLSDA cancels a class, a make-up session will be scheduled. If not possible, a credit will be applied to your subscription.
  • If a make up session is provided and you cannot make the make up session you will not be refunded for this.
  • No individual refunds will be given if you choose not to return the following term.
  • If a venue (e.g. school or community hall) cancels a session, a credit will also be applied to your next invoice.

14. Late payment fee

  • A late payment fee of £10 may be added to accounts if not settled by the due date unless prior arrangement has been made with the Director.
  • In addition the late payment fee students with outstanding fees may not be allowed to attend class or perform in shows/events until balances are cleared.


15.Covid-19, Illness and injury

  • If a student must isolate due to COVID-19, refunds or credits cannot be offered.
  • If NLSDA must close in accordance with government guidance, sessions missed will be refunded or credited accordingly.


16. Casting Decisions

  • Casting and role allocation in performances are at the discretion of the NLSDA team. These decisions are final and will not be open to discussion.


17. Class disruption or behavioural issues

  • NLSDA reserves the right to remove a child from class (temporarily or permanently) in the event of persistent disruptive behaviour. These decisions are final and will not be open to discussion.
  • Behaviour that puts other students at risk will result in immediate removal pending review.


18. Minimum Class numbers

  • NLSDA reserves the right to cancel or combine classes where minimum enrolment numbers are not met. Parents will be offered a transfer to an alternative class or a refund if no suitable alternative is available.


19. Weather or unforeseen events

  • NLSDA is not responsible for missed sessions due to circumstances beyond our control, including adverse weather, transport strikes, venue related issues, or in rare circumstances dangerous external activity or police activity in class area.


20. Complaints

  • All complaints must be submitted in writing and will be responded to within five working days.

21. Medical conditions and allergens

  • It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to inform NLSDA of any medical conditions, allergies or injuries that may affect participation in class.
  • NLSDA will not be help liable for any injuries caused by undisclosed medical conditions or failure to follow teachers instruction

22. Trial sessions

  • North London Street Dance Academy offers two paid trial sessions at a cost of £10 per session. These are designed to give new students a chance to experience the class before committing to a full term.
  • Trials must be booked and paid for in advance, and are subject to availability.
  • Upon completion of the two trials, parents/guardians must notify NLSDA within 72 hours if they wish to continue with the class. This allows us to offer any unconfirmed places to students on the waiting list.
  • Failure to confirm within 72 hours may result in the trial place being forfeited.
  • If the student chooses to continue, full-term fees (or an agreed subscription payment plan) must be set up immediately to secure the place.
  • Please note: participation in a trial does not guarantee a place in the class unless payment and registration are completed within the specified time frame.
  • Students may only attend a trial once per class type. If they leave and wish to return later, full-term registration will be required (subject to availability).
  • Not all classes require a paid trial - excluded sessions are afterschool clubs and HGS.


23. Summer Camps & Workshops

  • North London Street Dance Academy runs a range of holiday workshops and summer camps, which are open to both current and new students.
  • Spaces are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking to secure a place. We do not offer refunds for missed days unless NLSDA cancels a session.
  • Holiday camp fees are non-transferable and non-refundable unless a medical certificate is provided in case of illness.
  • All summer camp and workshop content is age-appropriate, designed to encourage creativity, build confidence, and develop technical dance skills across a range of street dance styles.
  • Students are expected to bring:
  • A refillable water bottle
  • A packed lunch and snacks (no nuts or sesame please)
  • Comfortable dance clothing and trainers
  • NLSDA staff may take photos and videos during camps and workshops to share with parents and for promotional use. These will only be used with prior parental/carer consent.
  • All behaviour and safeguarding expectations outlined in regular class terms apply equally during our holiday programmes.
  • Children are expected to arrive and be collected on time. Persistent late collection may result in an additional fee or a discussion about continued participation.
  • Participation in any end-of-week performance, certificate ceremony, or parent showcase is encouraged, and families will be notified in advance of timings.
  • Summer camps and workshops can be cancelled at any time at the discretion of the owner should we not meet minimum capacity. In this instance a full refund will be issued.

North London Street Dance Academy – Anti-Bullying Policy


Our Commitment

  • NLSDA has a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of bullying.
  • All concerns regarding bullying should be reported to the Director, Nichola Brown, immediately.
  • All incidents will be addressed in line with our safeguarding policies.
  • If a child is at immediate risk, the concern will be escalated to Enfield Children’s Social Care.
  • If bullying persists and cannot be resolved, the student responsible may be asked to leave NLSDA.


What is Bullying?


Bullying is:

  • An imbalance of power involving repeated negative behaviour
  • Can include physical, emotional, verbal, or cyber abuse
  • Can involve coercion, teasing, threats, or exclusion
  • Can cause long-term emotional damage, self-harm, and psychological trauma


Examples of self-harm may include:

  • Cutting, burning, head banging
  • Ingesting inappropriate substances
  • Self-loathing or suicidal thoughts
